Jet Pack

After an unfortunate shipping snafu, a client commissioned me to create a realistic jetpack costume prop within a 24 hour timeframe. Starting with different styles of 2 liter bottles (polyethylene), the base canisters were created. Structural and mechanical housing was created using Foamcore. PVC piping was added to replicate fuel transfer. Detail components were added including toggle switches, bottle cap gauges and knobs, and old air freshener parts were repurposed as ventilation ports. All surfaces received multiple layers of metallic paint and weathering treatments. Finally, a multicolored boa was incorporated to replicate exhaust flames.
