Cornhole Boards

Wood

These boards were created to American Cornhole Association specifications at 24"x48" with a 6" hole and a 12" rise. Constructed using 3/4" fin-ply with a 2x4 frame. After basic construction, all seams were filled and sanded. Shallow grooves were added to emulate pier planks and additional weathering was carefully added to create uniqueness between planks. Weathering gouges were sanded smooth to create a snag free playing surface. A deep mahogany stain was added and quickly sanded off, allowing the dark stain to emphasize the weathered voids. Additional staining techniques were used to create depth and color variance between planks. A painting template was created using a drywall hole cutter and shelf paper. This template was used to create a crisp edge around the hole. Edges were painted and adjustable legs were added to allow for a proper playing surface on uneven terrain. All surfaces were then treated with a protective matte finish. Bags were sewn using duck-cloth and feeder corn.
