Bowling Ball Case

Constructed using 3/4" premium pine, this 11" x 11" case was assembled as a complete cube using 45° miter cuts on all edges. Once glued and pinned, the cube was cut to create the body and lid. Concave spherical sections were created from wood and added to the top and bottom of the box to create a sturdy hold for the ball during transport. Those spheres were lined with black felt as to not damage the ball, but also to create a dramatic backdrop of the ball when displayed. All imperfections were filled and sanded. A protective coat was added to all wood surfaces. Weathered bronze hardware was added for contrast to complete the look.
